26 inches of snow in Virginia??? What the crap!!

This is the worst snow storm Virginia has had in many years. It is crazy...everything is closed, there are abandoned cars everywhere, because so many get stuck and do not know how to drive in the snow. We have been looking forward to light winters here..guess not! We had fun playing in it today. It's a bummer because we were supposed to go home tomorrow and our flight got cancelled and can't leave for 3 more days. We are planning on watching a lot of movies and hanging out indoors...especially to avoid all the crazy unexperienced drivers.

The best Sandwich place in VA!

This is the place we crave in Charlottesville. I just found these pics from when my mom and dad came in town to visit. We had to take them here to have a delicious sandwich from Little Johns. This is where Brandon and I like to meet up when he takes a break from studying, its right by the university.

My new favorite slippers!

I think I totally scored on this purchase at Sam's Club. They are the most comfy and warm slippers ever. Brandon thinks they are ugly and makes fun of me every time I wear them. He says I look like an Eskimo and my new name is Jacalowea when I wear them.

Christmas Treats and Decor

It snowed in Virginia yesterday and I thought it was a perfect day to stay in and make christmas treats to deliver to my neighbors. I made spritz cookies for the first time. With the help of a friend we also made caramels, toffee, peppermint bark and chocolate pretzels.

Here is my homemade Christmas wreath. It's kind of my new thing to make wreaths for the different holidays. It turned out ok...I didn't spend as much time on it as my Fall one.

Thanksgiving with Keith and Lindsay

Keith and Lindsay invited us to their place in Connecticut for Thanksgiving. It was so much fun and great to be with family over the holiday. They live about 7 hours away from us.
This is the massive lasagna Brandon got at a yummy restaruant in New York called "Bread". We had to take a picture to remember how large it was. I couldn't help myself, I had to take a bite and it was sure good.
Central Park in New York

Marine Corp. National Museum

Brandon's aunt and uncle live about 2 hours away from us, and they invited us to stay with them for the weekend. It was great getting to know them and they took us to the Marine Corp Museum that was awesome. We learned a lot about World War II, Vietnam War, and Korean War.

Our 1st Visitors!!

My Mom and Dad came to visit and we had a blast!! It was so much fun to have visitors. We gave them a grand tour of Charlottesville and took them to our favorite sandwich deli by the University of Virginia. In this pic we are on the grounds of Thomas Jefferson's house. I have the most amazing parents and I'm so grateful for them. It was so nice to see them and have them see where we live.

Apple Picking at Carter Mountain

Close to our house there is a place called Carter Mountain that has large orchards and vineyards. It is a beautiful view of Charlottesville. It's a fun place to go to pick fresh fruit that is in season. We picked fuji apples. After the mile hike to the top and back we ate a yummy apple donut and drank hot cider. I'm with my friend Sarah Fowler.

Halloween Party

A couple in our ward had a Halloween party and it was a lot of fun! We had fabulous spooky treats and the boys had fun with the donut eating contest. The couples that came were a mix of medical and law students.

BYU Game Party

We are watching the BYU vs. TCU game. Although it was a sad game, it was fun to hang with our friends in Chalottesville. We were excited to have Chad come down from Washington D.C to stay for the weekend.

Indian food is sooo good!

In Charlottesville there are a lot of authentic restaurants. There is a place here called the Historic Downtown Mall with fun shops and food. Last night we decided we needed to try some Charlottesville grub and went to an Indian food restaurant. It was sooo good. Brandon and I where brave..we usually don't branch out when it comes to food. The atmosphere was awesome. Brandon got spicy curry and I got Indian chow mien. My favorite was the Indian bread called nahn. If you haven't tried Indian food you definitely should.

"So you think you can dance"

"So you think you can dance" season 5 came to Richmond, Virginia and we went to the show!! Wow it was so awesome!! Our friend Randi Evans is a dancer and she is amazing. Our seats were sixth row on the floor, right in front of the stage...we were in the action! Brandon and I had so much fun, and it was so cool to meet the dancers after the show.

Home Made Fall Wreath

I have had a lot of spare time on my hands...so I'm trying to be crafty to keep me occupied when Brandon is studying. This is my first home made wreath!

Brandon's White Coat Ceremony

The medical school does a ceremony for the 1st year med students to receive there white coat. Brandon receives a short white coat as a student and when he graduates and becomes an MD he will receive another white coat that is long. The ceremony is a big deal and the university did a great job making the students feel important. Each student came to the stage one by one to put on the coat and get their picture taken. I'm so proud of you babe! Good luck in school, your doing great!

Visiting Thomas Jefferson's House

Last week we went on a tour of Thomas Jefferson's house. It is about 20 min from our house. It was awesome to see! It was crazy to walk through his house and picture him living there. He owned 3000 acres that he inherited from his father. We saw the graveyard where he and his family were buried. The gardens and the vineyards are still kept up and are beautiful! We watched a movie about all he had done and then hiked a path up to his house. We had fun and thought it was pretty cool to take a pic with his statue at the end of our tour. There is a lot of history here in Virginia.

Our New Place in Virginia

We moved to Charlottesville, Virginia the end of July and have been here for over 2 months. We are all moved in and settled in our new place! Here are a few pics. So far we really like it here. Things are going good for Brandon, he is keeping very busy with school. I'm working full-time at a Dental Office, and its going well. We have been very blessed and grateful everything has been working out for us!

Where are we going for Med-school???

We cannot believe how fast time as flown. We will be moving away for medical school in about 2-3 months. We are getting excited to choose a medical school and start making future plans. So where are we going?? We have not made our official decision yet. We are STILL waiting to hear back from three schools before we decide...but we think it may be Iowa or Virginia. We will keep ya posted. We should know in the next month...or we hope. Please keep in touch and check our blog. I know I have been so bad at updating the blog..but now that I'm graduated I have a lot more time and will keep it up to date. I want this to be a good way to keep in touch, especially with us moving. Love you all and hope everyone is doing good!

Chilling with Allison and Tyler

I insisted on taking these pics..since we are moving soon I have gotten very picture happy. The guys were playing the play station and us women thought we would watch Twilight and eat treats. The guys were making fun of us because we were watching the movie on Allison's little 3 yrs old princess TV. Hey its all good..we love that movie. I'm in love with Edward!

Hanging with Ryan and Brit at Tucanos

My brother's birthday is the same month as mine and we went to Tucanos to celebrate together. We had a blast. Thanks guys! Love ya

WE BOTH GRADUATED WHOOHOO!

After that i will be a free women, and can't wait to get my license and start working in a dental office.

Well things with us are going great! Nothin new..i wish i could say there was. We are both staying busy with school and work. We are both stoked to say that we are in our last semester!! As for medical schools we are still waiting to hear from a few before we will make a decision. We should hear from the schools by March. We are dying waiting..we are wondering where we will be moving this July...crazy! I'm going to be staring my boards this March and will finish in May to get my Dental Hygiene license. This semester is kicking my butt, but it's all good I'm almost done!
